Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice – Haslemere

Our client is a leading firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors specialising in providing audit, assurance and advisory services for the commercial sector as well as not-for-profit organisations.
They are one of the oldest firms of chartered accountants in Britain. They have been an independent partnership for over 150 years and intend to remain an independent specialist firm.
About the Opportunity:
They are looking for an experienced bookkeeper with varied experience who has an interest in the not-for-profit sector - prior experience of the sector is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
About the Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
- Additional Bookkeeping work to trial balance for multiple clients
- VAT return processing through MTD
- Working papers for annual accounts preparation, FAR, Accruals, Prepayments etc
- Communicating with clients and HMRC as required
- Meeting deadlines for statutory filings
- General office duties
- Other ad hoc tasks as required
About the Applicant: The successful candidate will be:
- AAT qualified, level 2 as a minimum (level 3 preferred)
- 1-2 years in a similar role, either small practice or SME business
- Experience ideal in using Xero and Sage 50 accounting software
- A self-starter
- Great communication skills
- A ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to seek answers
- Good computer skills and ability to work with multiple software’s
