About the Company:

Our client provides a wide range of services to businesses and individuals, mainly either in the London area or international businesses operating in the UK. The firm has been well established trading for over 22 years and has approximately 25 staff plus consultants and has seen significant growth.

About the Opportunity:

As a Director, you will take joint responsibility for the performance of both the Outsourced Business Services and Accounts Production Teams, working alongside one of the existing Directors. With the support of Managers across both teams, you will be accountable for the success and development of both teams, currently totalling 8 team members.

About the Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure:
  • The successful preparation of a large portfolio of the financial statements within the accounts production team through close partnership with external clients.
  • Overall management and delivery of cloud accounting, VAT and management information services.
  • Development of client relationships and leading teams to successfully meet department objectives.
  • Winning new business for the firm by generating your own new business leads, taking forward leads generated by the Company through its own marketing activities and upselling services to relevant clients.
  • The role also includes the requirement to:
  • Strategically oversee the operations of the Teams and co-ordinating efforts where necessary.
  • Plan and budget to drive projects forward efficiently, including overseeing and managing work carried out by both teams
  • Projects will be assigned to a mix of Managers, fully qualified team members and Associates.
  • Plan and organise own work in a rapidly changing and technical environment
  • Process company financial data efficiently and effectively, including review of financial statements using CaseWare software and book-keeping, VAT and management accounts using Xero.
  • Set and manage the schedule the Teams’ assignments, and ensuring departmental targets including billing, chargeability and budgets are met.
  • Ensure client relationships are well maintained, pro-actively manage communication internally & externally, ensure all delivery deadlines are met.
  • Business development activities and ability to generate new opportunities to drive the business forward
  • You will be jointly responsible for line management and on-the-job training for both Teams. You will have counselling manager and direct line management responsibility for two managers.
  • You will work in line with and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the firm and in relation to management decisions alongside the other directors of the company.
About the Applicant:
  • Experience working in public practice, completing both accounts production and book- keeping work.
  • Excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and pro-actively to solve problems
  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Experience of managing a team in a line manager capacity
  • Strong project focus including attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a highly dynamic, fast paced and team-orientated environment.
  • CaseWare accounts production skills would be beneficial.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • A history of using Xero or a strong understanding of book-keeping requirements

  • The successful candidate will be a natural leader and expected to pro-actively manage projects whilst communicating effectively with clients, so excellent English skills (both spoken and written) are a requirement.
  • A professional, enthusiastic and responsible approach are required, as well as being able to demonstrate the ability to work independently, problem-solve and find solutions.
  • The role includes the requirement to work through large amounts of financial data and documentation, therefore an eye for detail and a methodical approach is also important.
  • Finally, building great relationships whist using your initiative to take ownership of your role and inspire those around you is essential.
About the Benefits:
